Hatim Tai is the legendary chief of a small district known for his generosity, wisdom, and courage. Hatim al-Tai (Arabic: حاتم الطائي), full name Ḥātim bin ʿAbd Allāh bin Saʿd aṭ-Ṭāʾiyy, was an Arab knight, chieftain of the Tayyi tribe of Arabia, ruler of Shammar, and a poet who lived in the last half of the sixth century into the beginning of the seventh century CE. He lived in Ha'il in present-day Saudi Arabia, and his tomb is still a site of interest in Tuwarin, Ha'il, where he was buried in 578 AD.
